FERAL MARKINGS
Active skill - Deals 450% damage to 3 random enemies and applies a Bear Mark for 3 rounds. (Bear Mark: Triggers when marked enemy is hit with a Critical Strike and deals 750% damage.)
Niche endgame mech option via charm synergy. At charm level 30, Benji's Bear Mark functions as a budget Tianlu S1, providing damage amplification to the team. Proven in endgame 50B+ mech compositions.
Feral Markings' Bear Mark triggers 750% damage on crits against marked enemies, effectively multiplying team damage. Resilient Fur's +55% HP and +45% DR keep him alive. Early game tank that gains surprising late-game mech relevance through charm investment.
Durable Crane frontliner for Smash. Resilient Fur's +55% HP, +55% Armor, +45% DR make Benji one of the tankiest fighters in Smash brawls. Feral Markings' Bear Mark on 3 random enemies amplifies team damage.
Roar Cry activates below 25% HP, granting all allies +35% ATK, +30% Crit, and +40 Speed for 4 rounds — a powerful team buff that triggers naturally in Smash's extended fights. Solid tank but low personal damage output.
Tanky but passive. Resilient Fur's defensive stats make Benji hard to kill, but he brings minimal offensive pressure. Bear Mark requires allies to crit for activation — inconsistent without guaranteed crit sources.
Roar Cry's sub-25% HP trigger provides a strong team buff but by that point the fight may already be decided. Outclassed by Gorongo as a Crane PvP tank and by damage-oriented fighters in general.
Absorbs front-line targeting damage but offers no CC or boss-killing. Resilient Fur's defensive stats keep him alive, and Feral Fury's stacking ATK on damage taken provides some growing threat.
Bear Mark can amplify team damage against marked bosses if allies crit. But Crane HM slots are better filled by the core four. Benji doesn't contribute to the cleaner or boss-killer roles HM demands.
Durable sewer tank with some team buff utility. Resilient Fur's defensive stats provide attrition value. Roar Cry's team buff at sub-25% HP can swing difficult sewer waves.
Benji + 2 Mingshes reaches 95% DR, potentially exceeding the normal 85% cap — extreme survivability niche. Not part of the recommended Crane sewer lineup but functional if the team needs a dedicated tank slot.
Early game campaign tank that falls off at higher stages. Resilient Fur keeps him alive, but campaign rewards damage output and CC over pure tankiness.
Bear Mark's team damage amplification has some value in campaign waves where multiple enemies are marked. But Benji's low personal damage contribution and lack of CC limit his progression value beyond early-mid campaign.
