Game Modes
TapForce has a lot of modes, but you don't need to worry about all of them right away. Here's what each mode does and when you should start caring about it.
Quick reminder: Some modes use the auto-level system (Hard Mode, Sewers, Club Smash). In those modes, all fighters are leveled to your 6th highest fighter's level. This is why you only level 6 fighters.
| Mode | Auto-Level? | Key Rewards | When to Start |
|---|---|---|---|
| Campaign | No | Gold, XP, platinum | Day 1 |
| Arena | No | Gems, arena coins | Day 1 |
| Mech Event | No | Dojo coins, transmitters, gems | Whenever active |
| Hard Mode | Yes | Globe shop items, scrolls | Week 2+ |
| Club Smash | Yes | Club rewards, boss tickets | When in a club |
| Sewers | Yes | Faction-specific rewards | Week 3+ |
Campaign
Your bread and butter early on. Tap Campaign on the main screen and auto-battle through stages. This is where most of your gold and XP come from in the first few weeks.
- Push as far as you can each day — higher stages = better AFK rewards
- 1,800 stages total. Around stage 1,400, damage scaling gets harsh
- Past stage 1,500, crowd control (especially Pyra's petrify) becomes near-mandatory
Stuck on a stage? Try rearranging your team's positions. Sometimes putting a tanky fighter in position 1 and your damage dealers in the back is all you need. You can also come back tomorrow after collecting AFK rewards and leveling up.
Arena (PvP)
Fight other players' defense teams to climb the rankings. You get 3 tickets every 12 hours — use them even if you lose, because you earn gems and arena coins just for participating.
- The fastest fighters attack first — speed matters a lot here
- Your defense team is the team you've set (it fights on autopilot when others attack you)
- Don't stress about rank early — just use your tickets for the rewards
Mech Event
A 5-day club event that runs every few weeks. Giant robot bosses appear and your entire club fights them together. This is the biggest source of endgame rewards in the game.
- Always participate, even if your damage is tiny — you earn 20 gems per local mech kill plus dojo coins and transmitters
- 10 round limit per fight — burst damage matters more than sustain
- Damage cap is 9,000% of ATK per hit (higher than the normal 4,000%)
- Mechs are immune to freeze, petrify, and stun — but bleed, poison, and curse all work
For mech team builds, boss counters, and detailed strategy, see the Mech Boss Guide and the Advanced page of this guide.
Hard Mode
A parallel campaign with auto-leveled fighters. Goes up to level 240 across 4 stages, each with its own globe shop. Start once you have a solid team with equipment.
- Uses auto-level — your actual advantage comes from equipment, dragons, and promotion rank
- Tianlu dragon (S1+) is essential for levels 108+ — it gives CC resistance
- Bosses are immune to freeze, petrify, silence, and taunt — but not stun (Karma's permanent stun works!)
Club Smash
Faction-locked PvP within your club. Win PvP fights for a 30% chance at boss tickets, then fight club bosses for big rewards.
- Auto-leveled — equipment and promotion matter most
- Your defense is your last winning team
- Lily dominates this mode thanks to her Transform mechanic
Sewers
Faction-locked content where you can only use fighters from one faction at a time. Great source of faction-specific rewards.
- Auto-leveled — get all fighters to level 80 for weapon slots
- Metro Sewer allows any faction (mixed teams)
- You'll need more than 6 fighters here, which is why level 80 on everyone matters
Rotating Events
TapForce regularly runs limited-time events like Dino Dice, Battleship, and others. These show up in the Events tab and usually last a few days. Always check what's active — event rewards are often better than daily grind for the same time investment.
For event strategies and schedules, see the Events Guide.
